    East Anglian Style Hammer Dulcimer

I have donated a dulcimer to the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust to sell for their Stepdance DVD Fundraising Appeal.  The dulcimer was made in 1981 by Ron Field, and comes with a strong case made by Martin Brinsford; the original hammers made by Rod Stradling have long since worn out. The chessman bridges made it possible for the tuning set-up to be modified by Reg Reader in 2005, and converted to the East Anglian tuning system.  It comes with a tuning wrench, coils of spare wire gauges 8 and 9, tuning diagram and wire gauge diagram and is in very good condition.  Price: £250 – non-negotiable as it’s to raise funds for the appeal. The Trust is throwing in a free pair of East Anglian cane dulcimer beaters too!

Additional details can be found on the Trust’s website at http://www.eatmt.org.uk/fundraising_appeal.htm

Qanun:  I believe this small qanun to be from about 1850. It has 24 courses of strings and cost around £550 some 20 years ago.

Psaltery: Made by David Vernon in 1958 (in good condition) Citera: Diatonic Dulcimer: This is in need of some restoration

I have several dulcimer related instruments, belonging to my late husband, that I would like to find homes for, preferably, where they can be played again. If you are interested in any of the above instruments, please get in touch, I am based in London N7. Because my husband, George, repaired instruments, as well as being a player,  I also have boxes of spare bits & wire - and I also have quite a few pairs of different types of cimbalom/dulcimer hammers. Although a musician, I don't actually play dulcimers myself, but will try to provide more information if required. I'm open to all offers!!
