Information about the Club:

The Nonsuch Dulcimer Club is a UK based organisation for anyone interested in Hammered, or Mountain Dulcimers. The club was formed in 1993 by a group of Hammered Dulcimer players, but quickly extended its activities to the Mountain Dulcimer. It now has over 200 members who play one (or both) of these instruments. Although most of the members live in the UK, we also have members in Europe, Australia, the USA and several other countries.

Club members have a wide range of experience and ability, from non-players right up to professional level. There are also several members who build instruments, ranging from the one-off exercise in woodwork to the commercial instrument maker.

The club's main aim is to promote interest in the instruments. Workshops are run at various times throughout the year, and an annual meeting in the autumn. There are also several informal meetings in members houses, where you can get to know other members, and learn (or teach) skills and tunes.

Because the club is not "based" anywhere specific in the UK, we keep members informed with news, events, reviews, and educational articles, via a quarterly newsletter. We also put members in touch with each other via our members directory.
