Music has always been an important part of my life, although it is only in the last few years that I’ve discovered folk music and that is as a result of a trip to America to see the solar eclipse in 2017. I played a viola for many years and enjoyed playing in amateur orchestras but in 2017 I came back from America with my first Mountain Dulcimer!

In my working life I was a small animal veterinary surgeon with a special interest in cardiology – it is not unusual for “medics” to also play musical instruments! Now that I am retired I have much more time to follow my musical interests and to improve my dulcimer playing. I enjoy arranging pieces for the mountain dulcimer but still have a lot to learn.
