Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to postpone this event to October 22nd – 26th 2021. Please see Coronavirus Update for more information.
We hope to have the same lineup as that planned for 2020.
Our event will again be held at Denstone College. Next year we will be there a week later during the half term, so our arrival should be much more relaxed. We will also be able to program the Tutor concert on Friday night.
We hope our main tutors will be Mark Alan Wade on Hammered Dulcimer, and Karen Mueller on Mountain Dulcimer (though she may have an Autoharp on hand for her concert!). Judith van Dijkhuizen is organising the bookings again, and Pete Bromwich will be helping with the logistics of the event – a big thank you in advance to both.
As in recent years there will be three levels of workshop from beginner to advanced for both hammered and mountain dulcimer players, from Saturday to Monday (with a weekend only booking option), plus an extra single optional workshop stream for each instrument on the Tuesday. We are still working on the details and anticipate full details and booking to be available from April 2020.
We are reviewing the ways in which we can make the event better for all of us, following our first event at the venue in 2019, and will continue to do that with the College and with Nonsuch members.
If you have ideas for workshops, about the weekend in general, or would like to offer help, then please do get in touch with us.
