For Sale: 12/11 Hammered Dulcimer with 3 strings per course.

This 12 / 11 Hammered Dulcimer has 3 strings per course and includes a wooden custom made case. Believed to have been made post 1970, there is no discernible makers name but the standard of workmanship / inlay suggests it was made by a talented luthier. The excellent cosmetic condition is indicative of it having had minimal use.

Total weight including the case is 8.4 kilos, the dulcimer weighs 4.9 kilos. 

Includes: Wooden case, selection of hammers, a tuning key, 2 Tutorial Books and a Korg CA – 2 Chromatic Tuner.

Oakwood Dulcette hammered dulcimer plus wooden case, 2 sets of hammers and Dusty Strings stand.

The dulcimer would benefit from new strings but is still playable and might suit a beginner. The previous owner had built a wooden case around it so that goes with it.

This instrument was made from a kit. It has 3 strings per course. The seller carried out minor repairs to it and would like it put it to good use. It is currently set up to play mainly in D/G.

Although it is only a 9/8 range instrument, as it has ‘chessmen’ bridges it could be adapted to East Anglian tuning and so provide a wider range of playing options.
