About Peter
Peter ran the frequent Nonsuch Slow Jam Zoom sessions for beginner/novice players for over two years during lockdown. He now takes his turn in hosting the current Nonsuch monthly zoom sessions.
He teaches Hammered Dulcimer for raw beginner to advance beginner level. He is happy to do this face to face or online. Teaching is mainly by ear with written music to support this if required.
His website contains a library of tunes suitable for the dulcimer and has a separate slow jam section with play along tracks at various speeds. He teaches simple traditional tunes, beginners theory and can coach people who wish to play at sing.
Pete performs locally ranging from memory clubs to concerts as part of a trio and also solo at folk clubs, jam sessions and concerts.
He makes Hammered Dulcimers, hammers and stands. He also makes Hammered Mbiras, a new instrument with is a fusion of the hammered dulcimer and thumb piano or Mbira.
