You may have seen articles in the press that, sadly, it looks very much as though Malvern St James School will be closed down at the end of this school year. Here is the announcement from the school.

So, this of course might mean that the Nonsuch Annual Weekend 2026 cannot take place at this venue in October. 

The school has confirmed to us that all lettings up to 31st August will continue and have said “we will inform all of you about the possibility of lettings starting from September 2026 when we have more information”.

The news has not come as a total surprise, as it had been announced a few months ago that the school was experiencing financial problems, but MSJ had assured us that the Nonsuch Weekend in October was not affected and that the school was working on positive solutions.

We have let our tutors know about the situation and the Annual Weekend event co-ordinators are actively investigating potential alternatives. This may possibly mean a change of event date from the planned 23rd to 27th October, but ideally we hope to preserve these dates.

We were very close to opening bookings for the Annual Weekend, so we should be able to act quickly to get bookings opened as soon as a venue is confirmed.
