Dulcimer Junction Issue 13

Among the variety of sounds in Dulcimer Junction No.13, you will hear the magical music of the Bowed Psaltery – tunes and songs from players of the hammered dulcimer – a variety of different ways of accompanying songs using the Appalachian or mountain dulcimer – a spotlight on the tune St. Anne’s Reel – more dulcimer connections – and (as always) some tunes for you to listen to – and play along with (if you have a fancy to).
South Wales Meetings
A Welsh Dulcimers session is being organised on occasional Wednesday afternoons at TABERNACLE CONGREGATIONAL CHAPEL, Chapel Terrace, Rhiwderin, NEWPORT, NP10 8RH.
We are mainly a Mountain Dulcimer group and during the first hour we concentrate on tunes that are easier for new and less confident players. After a break for lunch (we all take our own although hot drinks are available) we choose harder tunes.
Aaron O’Rourke
Mountain Dulcimer Teacher (USA) Aaron O’Rourke began teaching and performing on mountain dulcimer at the age of 16. He quickly became one of the headline names at many dulcimer camps across the USA. Her career has spanned performances and teaching throughout Europe and Asia.
