Join us 7pm on 21st June - that's also Make Music Day 2022 - for a special zoom launch party of the Nonsuch plays Nonesuch video celebrating our 30th anniversary. We will premiere the video that has been created by Jon Warbrick from your recordings including a special group video from Halsway Manor Dulcimer Week!
We hope to hear some reminiscences about Nonsuch and we will also play a few tunes together.

Beginner Dulcimer Workshops at Upton Folk Festival
Come and join us on 30th April at Upton Folk Festival and have a go at either the Hammered or Mountain Dulcimer or both!

Spring Fling 2022
Join us for a mid week break in the iconic surroundings of Newcastle, Quayside, where you can participate in a series of member-led workshops for mountain and hammered dulcimer.
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Vic Gammon will give an illustrated talk and also join us for a group “folk club” session.

An Evening with Max ZT (US) and Dan Whitehouse (UK)
Acclaimed US hammered dulcimer player Max ZT is doing a short tour of the UK this November. He teams up with UK songwriter and composer Dan Whitehouse.
Alongside compositions from a joint EP release ’Ten Steps' (available only at the live gigs on this tour) both artists will also perform solo material – Dan from latest release Dreamland Tomorrow and Max ZT from his forthcoming debut solo album Daybreak.
Eastern Region: Dulcimer Event
An event for Dulcimer players in the Eastern Region (and beyond) to meet and swap information, tunes etc. in an informal and socially appropriate way.
There will be an opportunity for players to try out dulcimers from other cultures with a 1912 Bohak, Hungarian Cimbalom; a smaller cimbalom (maker and date unknown), a four octave Yang qin, East Anglian dulcimer, and a Hackbrett. Dulcimers from other cultures are very welcome.
Teas and Coffees will be available.

Northern Nonsuch Open Day
Northern Members meet up as part of Edgworth Folk Festival. Have a go sessions open to all, a general folk session for all at lunchime, plus a chance for Nonsuch members to catch up and share music in person!
Nonsuch Annual Weekend 2021 Online
We have 3 days of events with hammered and mountain dulcimer workshops from: Jessica Comeau (MD) (USA), Carol Crocker (MD) (USA), Colin Beasley (HD) (USA) and Stephen Humphries (HD) (USA). These cover a wide range of players levels, from Advanced Beginner and up. We also have a tutors concert on Saturday and a friendly club session on Sunday.
New for this year are Friday Feature Workshops with a range of topics covering repair, maintenance and more, and history of both types of dulcimer.
This year we are also running a session on Friday to remember our long-standing member John Shaw, who sadly died in June 2020.
